FLOATING CALIPER BRAKES
Innovative solution for limited installation space
Floating caliper brakes, also known as floating caliper brakes, offer an innovative solution for braking applications with limited installation space. Their unique design allows free axial movement of the caliper on guide pins and ensures even pressure distribution on both sides of the brake disk.
Special functions:
Our modular system allows flexible adaptation of the brake system to almost all requirements. The selection of actuating elements, the number of brake calipers and the disc diameter can be individually configured. The open design also allows the use of brake discs of any size without encountering any limiting factors.
Axial mobility: The brake caliper can move freely axially, which ensures even pressure distribution.
Compact design: With just one fixed point, floating caliper brakes are ideal for applications where space is at a premium.
Powerful: They can generate braking forces in the range from 15 to 370 kN.
Air gap mediation: A special device prevents the floating calliper module from touching the brake disk when it is released.
Versatile adaptability: The floating calliper design ensures that no significant torques are introduced into the upright construction. They can be used with different brake disk thicknesses thanks to the arrangement of an intermediate plate between the spring brake module and floating calliper module.
Areas of application: Floating calliperbrakes are used in a wide range of applications, particularly as passive holding and emergency stop brakes that are closed by a spring when not in use. Typical areas of application include:
Cranes
Lifting gear
Heavy industry
Conveyor system construction
General mechanical engineering
Floating calliper brakes offer a space-saving, economical and powerful solution for various industrial applications. Their flexible adaptability and reliable braking performance make them the ideal choice for demanding braking requirements.
