Its core technical team boasts of more than 20 years of advanced technical experience in PM synchronous motor / generator R&D and production. The company focuses on the design, development, customization, production and testing of new PM synchronous motor / generator and control systems that highly integrate mechanical transmission, mechanical loads, and power electronics. A+K attaches importance to customer’s specific requirements with strong capability for product customization. The philosophy of energy-saving is carried through from development to production.
A+K develops and manufactures a range of high-end permanent magnet synchronous motors and generators from 1kW to 10MW, including 6 series of product ranges with endless types according to customers needs. The products can be ordered with maritime certifications like DNV, ABS, Lloyds, BV, RINA and CCS.
A+K PM synchronous motor / generator are highly integrated innovative new products, without gearbox, coupling, flange connection and propulsion shaft. Number ofbearings is decreased to two. Compare with conventional PM motor/generator, A+Kproducts have smaller size, higher efficiency, lower maintenance cost. Direct drive, excellent control performance, low speed and big torque, speed modulated by frequency converter, efficiency no less than 98%. Compare with conventional PM motor / generator, material and cost of A+K products are lowered by at least 40%. Take auxiliary motor 2500 KW@ 245r.p.m. for example, A+K product weighs 12 ton, famous German brand 24 ton, and Chinese product over 30 ton.
A+K has incredible special knowledge and software development tools for the development of very modern and compact electrical machines with high efficiency. A+K’s products are widely used in industrial equipment, new energy, hydropower engineering, ship electric propulsion (main propulsion, auxiliary propulsion, and thruster), fans and pumps, generator sets, mining machinery, petroleum and petrochemical equipment.

With ATEK Drive Solutions, we are shaping the exciting transformation from component manufacturer to solution provider for the entire drivetrain. Our path into the future stands for growth and expanded technological know-how. To this end, two companies, ATEK Antriebstechnik Willi Glapiak GmbH and Deutsche van Rietschoten& Houvens GmbH, are merging to form ATEK Drive Solutions GmbH. Decades of experience in the fields of transmissions and brakes are thus combined at the site in Rellingen
and supplemented by further expertise in motor production.
Our goals are ambitious: doubling turnover and the number of employees by 2030 and integrating motor production at the renovated and expanded site in Rellingen. Here on the outskirts of Hamburg, we work with a young, committed team with high standards and quality, short distances, digital tools and flat hierarchies as well as a great passion for technology, fun team work and an interest in exchanging ideas with our customers and partners.
We have the best prerequisites for the success of our transformation:
For decades, the companies ATEK and Rietschoten have successfully occupied a profitable market niche for transmissions and industrial brakes with great growth potential, which can now be leveraged with ATEK Drive Solutions GmbH.
